TITLE OF THE STUDY
Momentary Nostalgia and Subjective Well-being Among Chinese Young Adults: An Ecological Momentary Assessment Study.

INTRODUCTORY SENTENCE
You are invited to participate in a research study conducted by Zeng Xuehua from BUS4038BEF Applied Research Project of Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU).

PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The purpose of this study is to understand how feelings of nostalgia (thinking emotionally about the past) are related to people's daily emotions and well-being among Chinese young adults. The findings may help researchers better understand how nostalgic feelings naturally occur in everyday life and whether they are associated with positive or negative emotions.

PROCEDURES
If you agree to participate, you will be invited to complete brief questionnaires on your smartphone approximately three times a day for seven consecutive days, between 9:00 and 21:00.
Each questionnaire will take about 2–3 minutes to complete. The questionnaire will ask about:
• how nostalgic you feel at that moment;
• your current positive and negative emotions; and
• who you are with at the time.
Survey links will be sent to your mobile phone by Questionnaire Star. You are asked to complete each questionnaire within 2 hours after receiving the survey link.

POTENTIAL RISKS/STRESS/PAIN/DISCOMFORTS/OTHER FACTORS AND THEIR MINIMIZATION
There are no known physical risks associated with this study. Some participants may be recalled past experiences while answering questions about nostalgia, which may cause mild emotional discomfort. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, you may skip any question or withdraw from the study without any punishment.

POTENTIAL BENEFITS
Your participation in this study may not bring you direct personal benefits, but it will help researchers further understand the relationship between nostalgia and well-being in cross-cultural contexts.

PARTICIPATION AND WITHDRAWAL
Your participation is entirely voluntary and that you can choose to withdraw from the study at any time you want without any penalty or negative consequences.

CONFIDENTIALITY
Your participation is entirely voluntary. You may refuse to participate or withdraw from the study at any time without giving a reason. There will be no negative consequences for choosing not to participate or for withdrawing.
All data collected in this study will be stored securely in password-protected electronic files on the researcher's password-protected computer. Only the researcher and the research supervisor will have access to the data. All the information acquired will be kept for about 3 months after completion of the research and will then be permanently deleted.
