Informed Consent Notice

(For those involved in research and surveys for medical staff)

We invite you to participate in a survey conducted by the Sichuan Provincial Cancer Hospital under the "Research on the Establishment of a Patient Reporting System for Disease Monitoring - PRO-SMA." The research has received approval from the hospital's review committee. Please read this consent form carefully.

I. Research Background:

Esophageal cancer is the sixth most common malignancy and a leading cause of cancer-related death. Medical professionals experience significant job stress, leading to burnout. A 2020 Medscape survey of over 15,000 doctors found that long hours and heavy workloads are major stress factors, with 42% of doctors reporting high stress levels.

In response, we have implemented the PRO-SMA system to help manage the workload of medical staff, particularly in high-demand departments like thoracic surgery, improving both physician well-being and patient care.

II. Research Purpose:

The study uses the MBI-HSS scale to evaluate medical staff's working conditions, patient care time, external consultations, communication methods, and stress levels across hospital levels.

III. Research Process:

If you participate, you will complete a survey about medical staff managing cancer patients.

IV. Risks:

There are no significant risks other than minor inconvenience from completing the survey.

V. Your Benefits:

Participating may help improve cancer patient management in the future.

VI. Your Responsibility:

You are responsible for completing the survey.

VII. Your Rights:

If you have questions or concerns during the study, contact Ms. Longlin. If your rights are violated, you can contact the hospital’s review committee at 028-85420681.

VIII. Privacy Issues:

Your personal information will be kept confidential. Data will only be accessible to the research team and stored securely. No personal data will be disclosed when the results are published.
