Competition Introduction
The Prokofiev International Music Competition was established in 1991 by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great composer Prokofiev. It is an important international music competition in Russia. Due to its wide influence and professional standards, numerous musicians from around the world have risen to prominence through this competition. In 1997, the competition became a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions. In 2002, the competition received support and sponsorship from UNESCO. In 2012, it became an international competition encouraged by the Chinese Ministry of Culture. To date, the competition has received support and recognition from over 80 higher education institutions of art worldwide, as well as from the cultural departments of China and Russia.

Purpose of the event
 The competition is based on the principles of authority, fairness, and broad participation, aiming to discover and cultivate exceptionally talented young musicians and promote the dissemination and performance of Prokofiev and his classic works. It provides an international music platform for mutual exchange and showcasing talent for every participating musician. The judging panel for this competition consists of dozens of experienced musicians and music academy professors. Furthermore, winners of this competition will have the opportunity to sign contracts and be invited to participate in international tours. Those with outstanding musical potential will also have the chance to be admitted to prestigious music academies through special admission programs.

After completing the registration form, please send the music performance video or composition audio (for composition category) to the official email address of the Organizing Committee: Prokofiev2008@sina.com

Music performance videos must be submitted in MP4 or MOV format.
Composition audio files must be submitted in MP3 or WAV format.
Composition scores must be submitted in PDF format, or as clearly photographed, paginated images labeled in order, placed in a single folder and compressed together with the audio files for submission.

Most Potential Award (multiple winners): Certificate + Souvenir

Note: In the North American Regional Finals, if certain categories do not reach the minimum required number of participants or the expected professional standard, some prize placements in those categories may be vacant or tied.Final round prizes include award certificates, trophies, competition souvenirs, and opportunities to participate in international concert tours.For group competitions, prizes include individual award certificates for each member, a group trophy, and international concert tour opportunities.(If individual honorary trophies are required, participants may contact the Organizing Committee staff to arrange an additional purchase.)All competition prizes will be shipped collectively after the competition. Shipping costs must be borne by the participants. If a participant performs a musical work composed by Sergei Prokofiev or other Russian composers and demonstrates an outstanding interpretation, they may additionally receive an Honorary Certificate for Outstanding Interpretation of Prokofiev / Russian Repertoire, awarded by the Jury Committee.

The Organizing Committee will also select and award “Outstanding Instructor of the Year 2026” and “Outstanding Educational Institution of the Year 2026” based on the number and results of prize-winning participants recommended by teachers or institutions, with honorary certificates presented accordingly.
