Task 1
When I arrived in Nepal, I was warmly welcomed. The training was very useful and I liked it a lot, especially the language class. After six days I moved to Langtang. The bus ride there was quite long, and I had to change buses twice because of landslides. But the landscape was amazing. The village was beautiful and people there soon accepted me and tried to support me all the time. The host family was friendly and showed me around and told me the local customs in my spare time. During that time, I stayed with another volunteer and we had a lot of fun together. It’s nice to have another person with you in a strange place. The children were cute and always wanted to play with us. If you are going to visit the resource centre, don’t forget to bring a lot of stickers and especially balloons, they will be crazy about that. English education in elementary school was very basic and it was sometimes hard work to keep the kids listening. But I’ll never forget the happy faces of the children waiting in front of the resource centre for me every day. They gave me so much love and joy. As a volunteer, you receive much more than you can give. It was the best experience I have ever had and I won’t regret any minute I spent there in Nepal.

Task 2
Lily was a third-year college student who always struggled with procrastination. She often left assignments until the last minute, felt stressed about deadlines, and wished she could manage her time better. One day, she decided to change her habits by learning three effective time management techniques: Eisenhower Matrix (Four Quadrants), 2-Minute Rule, and Pomodoro Technique. First, she used the Eisenhower Matrix to prioritize tasks. She divided her work into four categories: Urgent & Important (e.g., upcoming exams, project deadlines). Not Urgent but Important (e.g., long-term goals, exercise). Urgent but Not Important (e.g., some emails, minor requests). Not Urgent & Not Important (e.g., social media, unnecessary distractions). By focusing on Quadrant 1 and 2 tasks first, she reduced last-minute panic. Next, she applied the 2-Minute Rule: if a task took less than 2 minutes (e.g., replying to an email, organizing notes), she did it immediately instead of delaying it. This small habit helped her avoid piled-up minor tasks. Finally, she tried the Pomodoro Technique: studying for 25 minutes without distractions, then taking a 5-minute break. After four cycles, she took a longer break. This kept her focused and prevented burnout. After a few weeks, Lily noticed huge improvements. She completed assignments earlier, felt less stressed, and even had free time for hobbies. By combining these methods, she overcame procrastination and became a master of time management!
37. What was Lily’s main problem at the beginning?
Too many hobbies
Procrastination and poor time management
Lack of friends
Health issues
38. How did the Eisenhower Matrix help Lily?
By reminding her to check emails often
By helping her prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance
By making her work longer hours
By eliminating all breaks
39. What is the key idea of the 2-Minute Rule?
Spend only 2 minutes on every task
Do small tasks immediately if they take less than 2 minutes
Ignore tasks shorter than 2 minutes
Set a 2-minute timer for breaks
40. How does the Pomodoro Technique work?
Study for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break
Work for 2 hours without stopping
Study only during mornings
Skip breaks to finish work faster
41. What was the result of Lily’s new habits?
She became more stressed
She finished tasks earlier and had more free time
She stopped doing all unimportant tasks
She forgot her long-term goals
