Survey on World-Class Science and Technology Museums and the Future Forms and Functions

Thank you for taking the time to complete this questionnaire. Science and technology museums worldwide are entering a new phase of transformation. This survey aims to understand your views on world-class science and technology museums and your expectations for the forms and functions of next-generation science and technology museums. The questionnaire is anonymous, and your responses will be used solely for our research project. It should take approximately 10 minutes to complete. Thank you for your participation!

III. Future Forms and Functions of Science and Technology Museums

The development of science and technology museums can be broadly divided into three stages. First-generation museums focused on collecting historical treasures and presenting static displays. Second-generation museums introduced interactive electromechanical exhibits. Third-generation museums placed greater emphasis on visitor experience and inquiry-based interaction. Today, amid rapid global technological change, a new generation of science and technology museums is taking shape.

What do you consider to be the three core functions of next-generation science and technology museums?
How long do you think it will take for next-generation science and technology museums to become mainstream worldwide? (Select one.)
What do you consider to be the ideal form of a next-generation science and technology museum? (Select one.)
Which three technologies do you think will have the greatest impact on the forms and functions of science and technology museums over the next decade?
Which development pathway should be given priority for next-generation science and technology museums in your home country? (Select one.)
