案例一:王希孟《千里江山图》卷
简介:This is a Northern Song handscroll by Wang Ximeng, now held by the Palace Museum in Beijing. It is almost 12 meters long and shows mountains, waterfalls, bridges, homes, boats, and people.

The handscroll A Thousand Li of Rivers and Mountains was painted by Wang Ximeng in the Northern Song dynasty. It is ink and color on silk, measuring 51.5 centimeters in height and 1,191.5 centimeters in length, and is now held by the Palace Museum. It is the only surviving work known to be by Wang Ximeng. The painting depicts mountains, rivers, waterfalls, bridges, houses, boats, and people. Its handscroll format uses multiple viewpoints, so the scene changes as the scroll is unfolded. A colophon by Cai Jing records that Wang Ximeng was eighteen when he received instruction from Emperor Huizong and completed the painting in less than half a year.

简介:This Yuan-dynasty blue-and-white vessel was excavated at the site of Dadu, the capital of Yuan China in what is now Beijing. Its phoenix head forms the spout and its tail becomes the handle.

The blue-and-white phoenix-head flat flask dates from the Yuan dynasty, 1271 to 1368. It was excavated from the site of Dadu, the capital of Yuan China, located in what is now Beijing, and is now held by the Capital Museum. The vessel has a flattened, rounded body. Its phoenix head forms the spout, while its tail becomes the handle. A flying phoenix is painted in blue on the body, so the form and decoration become one design. The museum presents it in the context of the diverse cultural atmosphere of Yuan Dadu.

研究对象简介This exhibition was held at the Capital Museum in 2023. It brought together 53 objects or groups of objects from 17 museums and heritage institutions and used a 16-meter model to explain Beijing's 7.8-kilometer Central Axis.

Splendid Axis: A Special Exhibition Commemorating 870 Years Since Beijing Became a Capital was organized by the Beijing Municipal Cultural Heritage Bureau and the Capital Museum. It opened at the Capital Museum on March 28, 2023. The exhibition brought together 53 objects or groups of objects from 17 museums and heritage institutions. It was divided into three sections: Magnificent Axis, Cultural Axis, and Eternal Axis. A 16-meter model, projections, artifacts, photographs, and old objects presented the historical origins, development, public life, and conservation of Beijing Central Axis. The Central Axis began to take shape in the thirteenth century and is 7.8 kilometers long.
